Catenaa, Wednesday, September 09, 2026- Meta stock rallied more than 6% on Wednesday as Wall Street analysts were bullish on Muse.
“We believe Meta’s Muse consumer AI agent marks the beginning of a substantial product cycle for Meta that is not priced into shares,” Mizuho Securities analysts said in a client note. The firm has an Outperform rating and a $750 price target on the stock.
Meanwhile, KeyBanc Capital Markets analysts hold an Overweight rating on the stock with a price target of $780. The analysts wrote that they “continue to believe the market underestimates Meta’s AI positioning and product cycle.”
Muse “is designed around the way people already communicate, so talking to it works just like messaging another person, in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp,” Meta said on Tuesday.
In a video message, CEO Mark Zuckerberg touted the tool’s privacy and security capabilities.
“We built a Secure Credential Store for your passwords and credit cards so Muse can’t read this information. Muse also checks directly with you before taking sensitive actions like making payments or sending messages,” Zuckerberg said.
“We’re modeling the encryption off of what we’ve built in WhatsApp, where even Meta can’t see the messages that you send,” he added.
Meta shares have recovered most of their declines from earlier this year. Year to date, the stock is down roughly 1%.
META’s free cash flow collapsed to $784M from $8.55B a year ago, while full-year capex guidance reaches $145B, making today’s rally sentiment ahead of evidence.
The launch answers the standing bear case that Meta Platforms’ capital spending carried no direct consumer revenue line, and the reaction reads as a company-specific repricing rather than a broader bid for AI names.
Overnight endorsements from commerce and startup leaders added credibility to the rollout heading into the open.
Meta Platforms stock is up 6% to $649.20 Wednesday morning, the first meaningful vote for the company’s AI monetization since its July earnings report.
Meanwhile, Alphabet stock is down 2% to $330.53 as investors read Muse as an encroachment on Gemini’s consumer agent footprint.
Meta Platforms introduced paid plans at $20 per month and $100 per month above a free tier, the first direct consumer revenue line attached to its AI buildout.
Alexandr Wang, Chief AI Officer at Meta Platforms, said Muse follows a “principle of least privilege,” with users deciding which connectors are enabled and whether the agent can read or modify data.
