Why We’re Telling You This
Catenaa is free to read. Like most independent media platforms, we generate revenue through advertising and commercial partnerships. We believe you have the right to know exactly how that works and more importantly, how it does not affect what we write.
This page explains how advertising works on Catenaa, how we keep it separate from our journalism and how to identify commercial content when you see it.
Editorial Independence Comes First
Advertising revenue keeps Catenaa running. But it does not and will never influence what we cover, how we cover it or what conclusions our journalists reach.
Display Advertising
Standard banner ads, sidebar placements, and in-article display ads appear across Catenaa. These are clearly positioned as advertisements and are sold to third-party advertisers. The presence of a display ad from a company does not mean Catenaa endorses that company, its products or its services.
Catenaa does not accept display advertising from platforms or products it has reason to believe are fraudulent, unregulated or harmful to readers.
Sponsored Content
Sponsored content is paid-for material produced in partnership with an advertiser. It will always be clearly labelled with one of the following:

- Paid Post
Sponsored content is visually distinct from Catenaa’s editorial articles. It is not written or edited by our newsroom. Its publication does not represent Catenaa’s editorial endorsement of the sponsor, its products or any claims made within the content.
Sponsored content on Catenaa must meet minimum factual and ethical standards. We reserve the right to decline or remove sponsored content that we believe is misleading, harmful or inconsistent with our standards.
Press Releases
Companies and projects sometimes pay to have press releases distributed through Catenaa. These are always labelled Press Release and are published as third-party announcements. They are not Catenaa journalism, and their publication does not constitute editorial endorsement.
Affiliate Links
Catenaa may include affiliate links in some content links through which we earn a commission if a reader clicks and makes a purchase or signs up for a service. Where affiliate links appear, this will be disclosed clearly within the article.
The inclusion of an affiliate link does not influence editorial decisions about what products or services to mention or recommend. Our journalists are not paid based on affiliate performance.
Event and Airdrop Sponsorships
Catenaa covers industry events and token distributions. Where a company has paid to have an event or airdrop featured, it will be labelled Sponsored Event, Partner Event or Paid Distribution accordingly. Coverage of events or airdrops that Catenaa attends or reports on independently is not subject to commercial arrangements and will not carry a sponsorship label.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not guarantee editorial coverage to any advertiser or partner
- We do not allow advertisers to review, approve or influence articles before publication
- We do not accept payment to present sponsored material as independent journalism
- We do not publish advertising from sources we have reason to believe are deceptive, fraudulent or harmful to readers
- We do not allow advertising relationships to affect how we report on a company, positively or negatively
Third-Party Advertising and Links
Some advertising on Catenaa is served by third-party ad networks. Catenaa does not control the specific ads delivered through these networks and is not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of third-party advertisers. If you encounter an advertisement that you believe is misleading or harmful, please let us know.
Catenaa also links to third-party websites as part of normal editorial practice. These links are provided for your information and convenience. They do not constitute endorsement of the linked site or its content, and Catenaa is not responsible for what you find there.
A Note on Financial Advertising
