Code Of Ethics

Last updated: 22 Spetember 2026

This Code sets out the ethical standards that every person producing content for Catenaa is expected to follow. It applies to editors, journalists, freelancers and contributors and works alongside our Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy.

Truth and Accuracy

  • Report facts accurately and in context.
  • Verify information before publication, using primary sources where possible: official statements, regulatory filings, on-chain data, audited reports and direct interviews.
  • Use multiple independent sources for market-sensitive or controversial stories.
  • Clearly separate fact from interpretation and opinion.
  • Never invent, alter or embellish facts, quotes, data or sources.

Independence

  • Editorial decisions are made by Catenaa’s editors and journalists alone.
  • Advertisers, sponsors, partners and article subjects have no say over what we cover or how we cover it.
  • Coverage is never offered or guaranteed in exchange for payment, sponsorship or partnership.
  • Sponsored content, partner content and press releases are clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content.

Conflicts of Interest

  • Contributors must disclose any financial, professional or personal relationship relevant to what they cover.
  • Where a conflict exists, editors may reassign or restrict coverage.
  • Relevant disclosures are made visible to readers.
  • Journalists must never use their position or unpublished information for personal gain.

Gifts, Payments and Incentives

  • Journalists may not accept payments, gifts or incentives from sources or from companies they cover.
  • This includes tokens, coins, airdrops, giveaways and contest rewards that could affect impartial coverage.
  • Any offer of payment in exchange for coverage must be declined and reported to an editor.

Fairness

  • Give people and organisations facing serious allegations a fair opportunity to respond before publication.
  • Represent all relevant sides of a story accurately.
  • Avoid bias based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender or any other personal characteristic.
  • Headlines must accurately reflect the article. No clickbait, exaggeration or sensationalism.

Sources

  • Attribute quotes, data and claims clearly.
  • Anonymous sources are used only when the information is in the public interest, the source faces credible risk, the information is independently verified and a senior editor approves.
  • Protect the identity of confidential sources.
  • Respect embargoes and agreed terms with sources.

Originality

  • All work must be original or properly attributed.
  • Plagiarism, content scraping and uncredited reuse of others’ work are prohibited.
  • Rewriting another outlet’s reporting without independent verification and credit is not acceptable.

Financial and Market Responsibility

  • Catenaa does not provide personalised investment advice.
  • No guaranteed-return claims, price promises or promotional language in editorial content.
  • No disguised promotions, pump-and-dump narratives or coordinated market messaging.
  • Analysis includes risk context where appropriate.

Privacy and Harm

  • Respect personal privacy unless there is a clear public interest.
  • Do not publish private personal information such as home addresses or private contact details.
  • Take particular care when reporting on fraud victims, scams or people in vulnerable situations.

Use of AI

  • AI-assisted tools may be used for research, summarisation, data analysis and workflow support.
  • Every published piece is reviewed and approved by a human editor.
  • AI must not be used to fabricate quotes, sources or data.

Accountability

  • Errors are corrected promptly and transparently under our Corrections Policy.
  • Readers can raise concerns or report errors at editorial@catenaa.com.

Enforcement

Breaches of this Code may result in:

  • Correction or removal of content
  • Suspension or termination of contributors

This Code is reviewed periodically to reflect evolving journalism standards.
