Catenaa, Monday, October 26, 2026- Anthropic spent $9 billion on AI infrastructure in the first half of 2025, compared with $7.3 billion for the full year.
On Monday, Anthropic filed its S-1 investment prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission, saying it will trade under the ticker symbol ANT.
Claude maker said it generated $16.3 billion in revenue in the six-month period ending in June, more than the $4.6 billion it saw in all of 2025.
Anthropic also faces customer concentration risk, with two clients accounting for about 20% of its revenue in the first half of 2026, according to Yahoo Finance.
According to the S-1, as cited by Yahoo Finance, Anthropic reported a net loss of $80.7 billion through June, though most of it was due to accounting charges. The company lost $42 billion in 2025.
Yahoo Finance also reported that Anthropic plans to lock in more than $430 billion in cloud computing deals with companies including Amazon and Google, major Anthropic investors, and others in the years ahead. Add cancellable and smaller deals, and the total reaches as much as $637 billion.
Anthropic used its IPO prospectus to present artificial intelligence as a major opportunity for economic growth and productivity, while outlining its ambitions to expand the technology’s role across industries, CBS News reported.
“We believe the diffusion of AI through the global economy represents one of the largest opportunities in history to improve how humans live and work, and it is just beginning,” the company said in its SEC filing, as cited by CBS News.
Anthropic would become one of the most valuable companies listed when it goes public as early as November. Anthropic shares will list on the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index, according to the company’s filing.
CBS News reported that Anthropic’s IPO could signal investor appetite for funding the AI industry, including chipmakers and data center companies.
“Anthropic could become the most valuable company in the world. It could also end up in bankruptcy,” analysts with Lightshed, an investment advisory firm, said in a research note ahead of the IPO filing, according to CBS News.
Although capital flowing into AI has pushed the stock market and AI-related companies to record highs, investors are increasingly concerned about whether AI spending can produce sustainable profits.
“Anthropic needs capital, with competitors pursuing the same investor dollars. That leaves investors with little time to understand what they are being asked to own,” Lightshed added.
