SpaceX Moves $270 Million in Bitcoin, First Transfer Since July

Catenaa, Sunday, October 26, 2025- SpaceX executed a bitcoin transfer valued at roughly $268.5 million on Tuesday, its first movement of BTC holdings since July, according to Arkham Intelligence data.

The aerospace firm moved 2,495 BTC to multiple unmarked addresses, marking the first material change to its bitcoin reserves since June 2022. SpaceX’s holdings had previously remained steady at around 8,285 BTC.

The company has not disclosed a reason for the transfer. Crypto analyst Aunt Ai suggested the movement may be part of a wallet reorganization rather than a sale, noting that previous transfers later appeared linked to Coinbase Prime custody addresses.

In 2022, SpaceX reduced its bitcoin holdings by about 70%, influenced by market shocks from the Terra-Luna collapse, FTX bankruptcy, and other crypto market turmoil. Since then, the firm has not added to its reserves.

Tesla, also led by Elon Musk, sold a large portion of its bitcoin in 2022 and currently holds 11,509 BTC, worth about $1.24 billion, per Arkham data.
