Catenaa, Friday, October 09, 2026- OpenAI is expected to reach $70 billion in annualized revenue by the end of 2026, with the enterprise segment driving most of the growth.

Quoting sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported that the company shared the revenue numbers with investors as part of the latest funding round.

The people told Bloomberg the company recorded annualized revenue of about $50 billion by the end of September.

Meanwhile, Nvidia and Micron stocks gained marginally on Friday after OpenAI revenue reversed investor sentiment following a heavy chip stock sell-off on Thursday. On Thursday, the Nasdaq 100 fell 1.4%, and the PHLX Semiconductor ETF fell by 3.4%.

Bloomberg reported that the company also showed 77% total run-rate growth in its third quarter and 107% run-rate growth in its enterprise segment over the same period.

Earlier reports indicated that OpenAI was targeting annualized revenue of $70 billion by the end of September based on investor estimates, after Anthropic reported annualized revenue of $65 billion by the end of July.

The Financial Times reported that differences in how the two AI companies account for revenue from cloud partnerships may explain the gap between investor estimates and OpenAI’s reported figures.

The distinction concerns how revenue from certain third-party cloud arrangements is recognized, rather than necessarily reflecting a comparable difference in underlying customer demand.

Bloomberg also said OpenAI most recently raised a $122 billion round in March at an $852 billion valuation and is in talks with investment funds from the United Arab Emirates, including Abu Dhabi-based MGX, to raise $30 billion or more at a $1.4 trillion valuation.

OpenAI has pushed back plans for an initial public offering until at least next year, citing its focus on AI safety efforts; Anthropic is expected to sell shares in an IPO as soon as November, according to Bloomberg.
