Catenaa, Monday, November 02, 2026- Anthropic revenue for the first nine months of 2026 surged more than 1,200%, despite an operating loss in the September quarter.

Anthropic released an amended S-1 investor prospectus on Monday showing revenue grew 1,206% to $33.2 billion through the first nine months of the year ended September 30.

The September quarter revenue alone was reported at $17 billion, as the AI company recorded $16.3 billion in revenue for the first six months through June 30. Anthropic recorded $4.6 billion in revenue in all of 2025.

The filing showed that Anthropic recorded an operating loss of $536 million in the September quarter, while the operating loss also improved year over year to $1.3 billion in the first nine months from $5.2 billion in the same period in 2025.

The company says the decline resulted from a $5 billion charge for compute under short-term commitments, as well as $2 billion in non-cash charges from its donation matching program.

The AI giant also revealed a staggering aggregate committed spend of $895.4 billion, which it says is primarily related to compute and infrastructure. Some $447.5 billion of that will hit before Dec. 31, 2030, with the remainder coming between 2031 and 2045; $69.8 billion will be due over the next 12 months.

Anthropic’s planned public listing will further test investor demand for highly valued technology companies. Its market debut follows SpaceX’s June IPO, which attracted significant investor interest despite concerns about technology-sector valuations.

Anthropic didn’t appear to change much in its vast risks section, which outlines scenarios in which the company’s AI could go out of control and cause damage that even the world’s combined insurance industry may not cover.

According to Yahoo Finance, CEO Dario Amodei called on the AI industry to slow the development of frontier AI models over fears that they could become too powerful for humans to control.

Warnings from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and researchers across the AI industry have intensified debate over the potential risks posed by increasingly powerful artificial intelligence systems, including concerns about catastrophic outcomes.

The filing gave no indication of how much the company ultimately expects to raise, or what the shares will be priced at when it goes public.

Anthropic has previously said it will list its stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “ANT.”
