Catenaa, Wednesday, July 15, 2026- Nvidia founder Jensen Huang stressed that the next-generation AI accelerator systems, Vera Rubin, were in production and on track for delivery to customers.

Huang, who was in Tokyo to talk about how Nvidia might aid Japan’s sovereign and physical AI ambitions, said Vera Rubin hardware was on pace for “giant” production volumes, though he didn’t elaborate on a timeframe.

That’s after research firm SemiAnalysis said this month that Nvidia’s next-generation AI server rack system had been delayed due to difficulties manufacturing a specialized circuit board that connects electronic modules.

The reports are “not true. Vera Rubin is already in production. Giant amounts of production incoming,” the Nvidia Chief Executive Officer told reporters on the sidelines of a developer event Wednesday.

Huang’s visit coincides with a push by Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to encourage private sector investment to build made-in-Japan AI to support the country’s factory automation and robotics technologies.

A shrinking population is putting pressure on Japanese manufacturers to seek help from robots and artificial intelligence.

Japan is home to some of the world’s biggest makers of factory robots, such as Fanuc, Yaskawa Electric and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, as well as manufacturers like Toyota Motor that use their equipment.

SoftBank Group has also announced a $5.4 billion deal to buy ABB’s robots unit. All are seeking to use AI to increase robot productivity.

Huang also reiterated his company’s readiness to ship H200s to China when approved. The chip was cleared for export by President Donald Trump in December, in a significant easing of US export restrictions aimed at reining in Beijing’s AI ambitions.

A small number of Nvidia’s H200 AI chips have been shipped to customers in China after winning Washington’s nod, the Trump administration official who oversees export control programs confirmed.

Until the introduction of the company’s Blackwell models in late 2024, the H200 was the most powerful AI chip on the market.

“We haven’t really started much shipment yet,” Huang said.
