Catenaa, Monday, October 06, 2025- Layer-1 blockchain Sei is advancing its expansion across Asia with a focus on regulatory compliance and institutional adoption, according to Lee Zhu, Sei Network’s APAC growth director.

The blockchain secured licensing approvals in Japan last year, enabling listings on Binance Japan and OKX Japan, one of the world’s most stringent exchange regimes.

Zhu told a news media that Sei’s compliance-first approach provides clarity on resource allocation and long-term strategy in the region.

The network leverages Circle’s USDC deployment and Apollo’s tokenization solutions via Securitize to reduce friction for exchanges and support structured products and derivatives.

Sei combines high throughput with EVM compatibility, allowing 90% of developers already using Solidity to build without switching costs, differentiating it from competitors like Solana and Sui.

Sei’s native token SEI has seen a 46.5% surge in 24 hours to $0.2855 and is up more than 72% over the past week, according to CoinGecko.

In South Korea, SEI ranks among the top three by trading volume, and the network shows growth in GameFi and SocialFi, sometimes surpassing Solana in daily active users. Asset manager 21Shares has filed with the US SEC for a SEI ETF, offering potential staking yields for investors.

Zhu outlined a 12-month roadmap focused on onboarding institutions through real-world asset tokenization and expanding the developer base in Vietnam and Indonesia. He emphasized that the network’s high throughput is essential to attracting institutional partners.

Built during a bear market, Sei operates with a “prudent, impact-focused” mindset, preparing to navigate market downturns while positioning for long-term growth.
