Catenaa, Tuesday, August 11, 2026- Ripple has secured full authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, marking a major regulatory milestone for the blockchain payments company, even as XRP remains under pressure from broader macroeconomic headwinds.

The cryptocurrency traded around $1.07 on Tuesday, struggling to break through the psychologically important $1.10 resistance despite the regulatory breakthrough that strengthens Ripple’s ability to offer digital asset services across the European Economic Area.

The authorization grants Ripple Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) status under MiCA, allowing the company to expand regulated payment and digital asset services throughout the European Union under a unified licensing framework.

The approval is expected to enhance Ripple’s institutional presence in Europe, particularly in cross-border payments where the company has long positioned XRP Ledger as an alternative settlement infrastructure for financial institutions.

However, the positive regulatory news has coincided with a more cautious global investment environment.

The US Federal Reserve last week maintained benchmark interest rates between 3.50% and 3.75%, while Fed Chair Kevin Warsh reiterated that the central bank remains committed to returning inflation to its 2% target. The comments reinforced expectations that monetary policy will remain restrictive, limiting investor appetite for higher-risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

Despite the subdued price action, blockchain data suggests larger investors continue accumulating XRP.

According to on-chain analytics cited by market observers, wallets holding between 10,000 and 100,000 XRP increased their share of the circulating supply during July, while addresses holding between 100,000 and one million XRP also expanded their positions. The trend points to continued accumulation by mid-sized holders even as prices remain range-bound.

Perpetual futures open interest has also remained elevated at around 2.27 billion XRP, indicating traders continue positioning for a potential breakout once broader market conditions improve.

From a technical perspective, XRP remains below several key moving averages.

The token faces immediate resistance around $1.10, with stronger selling pressure emerging between $1.13 and $1.14. Momentum indicators continue to show limited buying strength, suggesting the market is waiting for a stronger catalyst before establishing a sustained upward trend.

Analysts say a decisive move above $1.10 accompanied by higher trading volumes could trigger renewed momentum toward the next resistance zone. Conversely, a break below the $1.00 support level would weaken the current recovery outlook and increase downside risks.

The contrasting signals highlight the forces currently shaping the digital asset market. While regulatory clarity is steadily improving in major jurisdictions such as Europe, macroeconomic policy remains the dominant driver of short-term price movements.

For Ripple, the MiCA authorization represents another step toward expanding its institutional payments business. Whether that translates into stronger XRP price performance may ultimately depend less on regulation than on the direction of global liquidity and investor risk appetite.

The European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation establishes a harmonized legal framework for crypto businesses operating across member states. By obtaining full CASP authorization, Ripple joins a growing list of firms able to offer regulated digital asset services throughout Europe. The framework is widely viewed as a benchmark for institutional crypto adoption, although market performance continues to be influenced by broader monetary policy and macroeconomic conditions.
