Catenaa, Saturday, October 18, 2025- Ethereum stablecoin usage reached new highs as weekly unique senders exceeded 1 million, reflecting rapid adoption of stablecoins for payments, remittances, and decentralized applications.
Data from The Block shows that in 2025, the average number of weekly stablecoin senders on Ethereum reached 720,000, up sharply from roughly 400,000 per week between 2020 and mid-2024. Growth has averaged 1.7% per week since August 2024, consistently setting record highs.
Analysts attribute the surge to stablecoins’ use in countries with unstable fiat currencies, as well as for decentralized finance applications including perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and real-world asset settlements.
Ethereum’s Layer 1 network captures onboarding, rebalancing, and payout flows, generating new addresses and driving higher user counts.
The trend signals that stablecoins are becoming mainstream settlement rails. Unless disrupted by major policy changes or peg instability, industry observers expect continued growth in user adoption and transaction volumes as merchant payouts and application incentives expand.
