Catenaa, Monday, November 03, 2025- Ethereum developers have set December 03 as the official launch date for the Fusaka hard fork, a major mainnet upgrade designed to improve scalability, security, and transaction efficiency.
The announcement came during an All Core Devs call Thursday, following the final testnet deployment on Hoodi.
The backward-compatible upgrade will implement about a dozen Ethereum Improvement Proposals, including Peer Data Availability Sampling (PeerDAS), a streamlined method for validators to access blockchain data.
PeerDAS was initially planned for February’s Pectra upgrade but was delayed for additional testing.
Fusaka will raise Ethereum’s block gas limit from 30 million to 150 million units and is expected to double blob capacity. The upgrade aims to strengthen Layer 2 support and expand network throughput.
The Ethereum Foundation, a non-profit overseeing development, launched a four-week audit contest last month, offering up to $2 million for researchers who identify bugs before the mainnet release.
Previous testnet deployments on Holesky and Sepolia showed network readiness for Fusaka.
Developers and validators have closely monitored the final testnet phase to ensure a smooth transition. Fusaka is seen as a key step for Ethereum’s long-term performance amid growing institutional adoption and rising transaction volumes.
Analysts say the upgrade could ease congestion and reduce bottlenecks while enhancing security and validator efficiency.
The network is expected to fully implement Fusaka on Dec. 3, marking a critical milestone in Ethereum’s development roadmap.
Ethereum plans Dec. 3 for Fusaka upgrade, boosting gas limits, implementing PeerDAS, and improving scalability and security.
