Catenaa, Monday, August 17, 2026- Decentralized storage provider CT3 is preparing to shift its platform toward a token-based internal economy, building infrastructure and financial reserves before its planned CT3GB token listing.

The approach puts the functioning of the token before its public-market debut, rather than relying on an exchange listing to create demand.

CT3 said CT3GB is intended to become the primary settlement asset across its CT3 Cloud ecosystem. The token would eventually replace much of the Polygon-based infrastructure currently used for internal transactions.

Users would pay for data storage with CT3GB, while the token would also handle payments to infrastructure operators, rewards and settlements between participants.

That gives CT3GB a defined role inside the platform before the token begins trading publicly.

The company has not disclosed a listing date, exchange partners or an expected valuation.

CT3 said it has begun increasing storage and computing capacity while accumulating reserves intended to support the network after CT3GB launches.

Part of that preparation is being conducted through its Storage Contracts program, which CT3 said helps increase network capacity while creating a buffer for future growth.

The company is also changing how its decentralized storage infrastructure is organized.

Instead of relying on a single smart-contract structure, CT3 plans to divide different products among specialized contracts. Each can have separate capacity limits and its own system for tracking resources.

The architecture could allow one part of the storage network to expand without disrupting other services already operating on the platform.

CT3 said rising demand following the introduction of automatic backup technology helped prompt the next phase of development.

Security will be another test before CT3GB reaches the market.

The company plans to commission an independent audit of the smart contracts supporting CT3GB and its related services before the listing. The review is expected to examine security, contract logic and adherence to industry standards.

The strategy reflects a wider issue facing crypto projects preparing native tokens: whether there is enough genuine activity behind a token before speculative trading begins.

CT3 is attempting to address that problem by tying CT3GB directly to storage payments and network operations.

However, much will depend on whether demand for CT3’s storage services continues growing after the token becomes part of the system.

CT3GB’s eventual market performance will also depend on factors not yet disclosed, including token supply, distribution, liquidity and where it will trade.

For now, CT3’s more important development may not be the listing itself.

The company is attempting to have storage capacity, settlement demand and smart-contract infrastructure operating around CT3GB before traders determine its market price.
