Catenaa, Sunday, August 16, 2026- CoinMarketCap has expanded its Pro API with seven real-world asset data endpoints, giving developers access to tokenized traditional investments alongside cryptocurrency market data through a single system.
The new RWA tools cover tokenized equities, commodities, currencies, government securities, exchange-traded funds and real estate.
The move addresses an emerging data problem created by tokenization. As conventional assets appear across multiple blockchains and trading platforms, developers increasingly need to connect an underlying asset with its tokenized versions, issuers, prices and trading venues.
CoinMarketCap’s new endpoints are designed to bring those pieces together.
Developers can retrieve information including asset descriptions, issuers, tokenized prices, market capitalization, 24-hour trading volume and the markets where individual tokens trade. Stable identifiers are used to track assets across the system.
Some of the RWA endpoints are available through CoinMarketCap’s free Basic API plan.
The expansion places tokenized traditional assets inside the same infrastructure CoinMarketCap already uses for cryptocurrency prices, centralized and decentralized exchanges, derivatives and liquidation data.
That convergence could become increasingly important as the boundary between crypto and conventional financial markets weakens.
Crypto exchanges have been rapidly adding tokenized equities, while blockchain companies are developing infrastructure for government debt, commodities, funds and other traditional assets.
For developers, however, fragmented information can become a bottleneck. A single company could eventually have several tokenized representations issued on different networks and traded across multiple platforms.
CoinMarketCap is effectively positioning its API as a mapping layer connecting those representations with the traditional asset behind them.
The company has also been adapting its infrastructure for AI-driven applications. Its API supports agent-oriented access through a hosted Model Context Protocol server and x402 pay-per-call functionality, alongside conventional developer integrations.
The combination of RWA and AI-ready infrastructure points toward another emerging market: autonomous financial applications capable of finding, comparing and interacting with tokenized assets programmatically.
As more stocks, bonds and commodities migrate onto blockchain rails, the companies organizing their data could become as important as the platforms tokenizing them.
