Catenaa, Tuesday, February 03, 2026- Chainlink Labs has joined Wemade’s Global Alliance for KRW Stablecoins (GAKS) to support the development and adoption of Korean Won-backed stablecoins.
The coalition, launched in November 2025, aims to establish technical standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance institutional-grade infrastructure for stablecoins in South Korea.
Chainlink’s participation will strengthen the alliance’s technical capabilities, providing expertise in data integrity, interoperability, and transparency.
The firm’s oracle network, widely adopted by financial institutions including Swift, UBS, Mastercard, and Fidelity International, will support GAKS members in building reliable stablecoin frameworks and tokenized asset solutions.
The alliance is expanding after adding Chainalysis, CertiK, and SentBe, broadening its coverage across compliance, security, fintech, and data infrastructure.
Wemade said Chainlink’s experience in DeFi applications and enterprise adoption will be crucial as Korea develops next-generation digital asset infrastructure.
GAKS members will have access to Chainlink’s platform to improve technical standards and operational trust, facilitating stablecoin adoption at scale.
The initiative reflects growing efforts in South Korea to integrate digital assets with traditional financial systems while maintaining compliance with local regulations.
The alliance is seen as a highlight of South Korea’s focus on creating a regulated and secure environment for stablecoins, aiming to support real-world adoption and strengthen confidence in digital asset markets.
