Bitget Wallet Lets Users Pay Gas Fees in Stablecoins

Catenaa, Sunday, October 26, 2025- Bitget Wallet has integrated Ethereum Improvement Proposal 7702, enabling users to pay network transaction fees in stablecoins across eight major blockchains.

The update allows gas payments in USDT, USDC, or BGB stablecoins on Ethereum, Solana, Base, TRON, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, and Optimism. Bitget described this as part of its “gas abstraction” initiative.

EIP-7702 lets externally owned accounts temporarily function as smart contract wallets, allowing features like transaction batching and gas sponsorship. This aims to simplify wallet use and self-custody.

Jamie Elkaleh, chief marketing officer at Bitget Wallet, said the integration brings self-custody closer to the convenience of centralized exchanges. Users can transact across chains without managing gas tokens.

The move highlights growing efforts in the crypto industry to improve user experience by reducing friction in transaction processes, particularly for multi-chain users.
