Indosat Rolls Out Qualcomm’s RAN Automation Suite to Boost Efficiency

Catenaa, Thursday, December 11, 2025- Indonesian telecom operator Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has deployed Qualcomm’s Dragonwing RAN automation suite to enhance performance and efficiency across its multi-vendor network.

The AI-driven platform is designed to streamline operations, reduce costs, and simplify network management.

Local systems integrator Lintas Teknologi Indonesia assisted with the deployment, integrating the Dragonwing solution into Indosat’s existing infrastructure.

The rollout forms part of Indosat’s wider strategy to embed AI-based automation across its network to optimize operations and improve customer experience.

Indosat CTO Desmond Cheung described the launch as a milestone in the company’s digital transformation.
Qualcomm’s VP of product management, Ofir Zemer, noted that Dragonwing provides a flexible, AI-powered tool that supports network management and optimization goals.

The Dragonwing suite leverages machine learning algorithms to monitor network traffic, anticipate performance issues, and automate adjustments, helping lower operational expenditure while maintaining service quality.

Indosat expects the system to enhance reliability, reduce latency, and improve overall network efficiency.

This deployment highlights the growing adoption of AI-enabled network automation in telecoms, particularly in multi-vendor environments where operational complexity and costs are high.

Indosat plans to extend the solution across additional regions and network layers, further integrating AI capabilities into its operations.
