Coinbase Acquires Onchain Platform Echo for $375 Million

Catenaa, Sunday, October 26, 2025- Coinbase Global is acquiring onchain investment platform Echo for $375 million, marking its eighth purchase this year, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The deal combines cash and stock, with funding details expected to be disclosed later. Echo founder Jordan Fish, known online as Cobie, confirmed the acquisition on social media platform X.

Echo will operate under its existing brand for the time being. Coinbase plans to integrate Echo’s public token sale product, Sonar, into its broader platform offerings.

The acquisition follows earlier moves by Coinbase, including purchases of Deribit, LiquiFi, and a $25 million NFT acquisition to revive the UpOnly crypto podcast.

Coinbase’s stock closed Monday at $343.78, up 2.31% on the day and 33% year-to-date. The company maintains a market capitalization of $88.3 billion.

The move underscores Coinbase’s ongoing strategy to expand its onchain and DeFi capabilities while maintaining a mix of established brand identities and new product integration.
