Catenaa, Sunday, January 25, 2026- MegaETH, a high-performance Ethereum Layer 2 network, opened its mainnet for a global stress test.
The network plans to process 11 billion transactions over seven days, targeting sustained throughput between 15,000 and 35,000 transactions per second.
The test will feature latency-sensitive applications under constant load, including games Stomp.gg, Smasher.fun, and Crossy Fluffle.
On the backend, MegaETH will execute a combination of ETH transfers and v3 automated market maker swaps via DEX Kumbaya.xyz.
The network aims to identify any failures and optimize performance before public access.
MegaETH intends for the stress test to deliver the largest transaction count recorded across Ethereum Virtual Machine chains.
The company said stress tests are designed to reveal weaknesses and ensure stability for future users.
Following the stress test, MegaETH plans to launch its public mainnet, supporting decentralized finance and consumer applications powered by its native stablecoin, USDm.
The network emphasizes low-latency, high-throughput performance secured by Ethereum, with USDm facilitating predictable sequencer costs.
Founded in 2022, MegaETH raised $20 million in seed funding from investors including Dragonfly Capital, Vitalik Buterin, and Joseph Lubin.
The rollout reflects growing demand for real-time Layer 2 networks capable of supporting both gaming and DeFi at scale, while demonstrating predictable transaction execution across Ethereum-compatible platforms.
