Catenaa, Saturday, March 07, 2026-The U.S. Government moved about $23,000 worth of Bitcoin from a wallet labeled as tied to seized funds from Miguel Villanueva, according to blockchain data flagged Tuesday.
Three transactions were recorded from an address tagged on Arkham Intelligence as “U.S. Government: Miguel Villanueva Seized Funds.”
The transfers were sent to three separate addresses and included about 0.0378 BTC, 0.24 BTC and 0.0568 BTC.
The combined amount totaled roughly 0.3346 BTC. Based on current market prices, the value equaled about $23,000 at the time of transfer.
After the transactions, the originating wallet appeared to be fully drained, according to public blockchain records.
Blockchain trackers identify the address as linked to a forfeiture associated with Miguel Villanueva. Public court filings detailing the underlying seizure were not immediately available.
The movements come as federal officials have said seized digital assets are being retained under President Donald Trump’s bitcoin reserve policy. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in January the administration plans to halt sales of seized bitcoin and add forfeited holdings to a national digital asset reserve.
The federal government holds about 328,000 bitcoins, valued at more than $22 billion at current prices, making it one of the largest known holders worldwide.
