TRON joins Agentic AI Foundation

Catenaa, Wednesday, March 11, 2026- TRON DAO, the blockchain network handling $22 billion in daily transactions, has joined the Agentic AI Foundation as a Gold Member, signaling its expansion into AI infrastructure.

The Linux Foundation-hosted foundation aims to set global standards for agentic AI, self-operating software agents moving from research to business applications. TRON will sit on the foundation’s governing board and provide its high-throughput network for AI-driven micropayments and machine-to-machine settlements.

TRON’s participation highlights blockchain’s growing role in AI commerce. The network’s 2,000 transactions-per-second capacity, $85 billion USDT supply, and sub-cent fees allow continuous, low-cost payments that legacy systems cannot match. These features support applications such as automated content licensing, supply chain settlements, and decentralized finance. TRON’s founder Justin Sun described the move as building “open frameworks linking AI agents to decentralized finance.”

Since its 2017 founding, TRON has evolved from a meme coin to a major stablecoin settlement layer. By March 2026, it has 369 million accounts, 13 billion transactions, and $23 billion in total value locked. USDT drives 85% of volume, particularly in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. TRON processes more stablecoin transactions than Ethereum and rivals Visa’s peak throughput. Recent technical upgrades, including parallel processing and zero-knowledge proofs, target AI workloads specifically.

The move comes as blockchain and AI converge globally. Competitors like Solana and NEAR are also optimizing for AI agents, while regulatory clarity in the EU, Singapore, and the US encourages adoption. Analysts project AI-blockchain markets could reach $12 trillion by 2032. TRON’s membership in the Agentic AI Foundation positions it as a central settlement layer for autonomous AI, offering near-instant cross-border microtransactions at minimal cost.

TRON’s blockchain infrastructure now supports AI agents in trading, content licensing, and decentralized computing, marking a key step in global AI adoption.

The Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) is a Linux Foundation initiative created to promote open, interoperable infrastructure for agentic AI, autonomous systems expected to move beyond labs into real-world production.

AAIF combines open-source tools and standards from major players like OpenAI, Anthropic, Block, Google, Microsoft, AWS and more to prevent fragmented ecosystems and support broad industry collaboration.

TRON DAO’s entry as a Gold Member reflects that trend, adding a high‑throughput blockchain to the foundation’s governing board.

The foundation’s goal is to provide neutral stewardship so AI agents can operate across platforms efficiently and securely as adoption grows.
