SEC closes Ondo probe with no charges

SEC clears Ondo after probe ends

Catenaa, Wednesday, December 10, 2025-Ondo Finance said federal regulators closed a multi-year investigation without filing charges after reviewing its tokenization practices and the ONDO token.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission examined whether Ondo complied with securities laws during a period of tighter oversight.

The firm said it cooperated throughout the inquiry. It viewed the outcome as progress for companies issuing digital versions of traditional assets.

The investigation started in 2024 during a wave of market failures, trading platforms collapsing, and disputes over how to classify tokens.

Ondo was one of the earliest companies to convert equity products into onchain instruments. That growth brought attention from federal officials.

In its statement, Ondo said it plans to keep pursuing innovation and investor safeguards. The native ONDO token traded higher on Monday following the announcement. The SEC said it does not comment on ongoing or closed investigations.

Market demand for tokenized products has increased. Tokenized US Treasuries show strong adoption and corporate interest has expanded to onchain equities.

Ondo plans to present its next roadmap in February at an event in New York that will include regulators and industry executives.
