Catenaa, Friday, March 06, 2026- Anthony Pompliano’s digital asset treasury firm ProCap Financial said Monday it purchased 450 bitcoin and increased its share buyback program as cryptocurrency prices remain below recent highs.
The company said it is acquiring bitcoin to lower its average cost basis while repurchasing stock when shares trade below perceived value.
ProCap now holds 5,457 bitcoin, valued at about $375 million as of Monday morning, and has more than 82 million basic shares outstanding.
ProCap’s stock, trading under the ticker BRR, rose about 6% to $2.80 in morning trading after the announcement, according to market data.
Shares had fallen sharply in November after bitcoin began a steep decline from its record peak.
Publicly traded bitcoin treasury firms have faced pressure as bitcoin prices retreated in recent months. Many saw market valuations contract alongside the broader digital asset downturn.
In June, ProCap merged with Columbus Circle Capital Corp. to form ProCap Financial, outlining plans to acquire up to $1 billion in bitcoin. The firm raised more than $750 million through equity offerings and convertible notes to fund purchases.
Other bitcoin treasury companies are also expanding holdings. Strategy said Monday it bought more than 3,000 bitcoin for about $204.1 million, lifting its total holdings to 720,737 bitcoin.
