MegaETH Launches ‘Real-Time’ Mainnet With 50,000 TPS and 10 ms Blocks

Catenaa, Sunday, February 15, 2026-MegaETH officially launched its mainnet Monday, hosting more than 50 live applications and claiming a throughput of 50,000 transactions per second with 10-millisecond block times.

The network’s architecture prioritizes low latency, addressing traditional blockchain performance bottlenecks.

MegaETH uses a system called SALT, or Small Authentication Large Trie, which stores critical data in memory to avoid delays from conventional storage.

Execution is separated from settlement, with Ethereum providing underlying security, allowing MegaETH to surpass typical throughput limits without functioning as a traditional L1 or L2 chain.

Founded in 2022, MegaETH raised $20 million in a 2024 seed round led by Dragonfly Capital, with participation from Ethereum co-founders Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin.

The network completed a January stress test processing 11 billion transactions over seven days and followed an oversubscribed October 2025 token sale that drew $1.39 billion in commitments.

The launch introduces novel onchain assets and interaction methods, including gamified and walletless experiences, supported by its accelerator, MegaMafia, which has generated teams raising over $70 million in venture funding.

MegaETH’s native MEGA token will launch seven days after one of three KPIs is achieved: reaching $500 million in USDM circulating supply, having 10 MegaMafia apps active on mainnet, or generating over $50,000 in daily fees for three apps over 30 consecutive days.

Tokenomics include Proximity Markets, granting low-latency access, and a buyback program using USDM yield to reduce circulating MEGA supply.
