Crypto Leaders to Meet Senate Democrats Over Regulation

Catenaa, Wednesday, October 22, 2025-Top crypto executives are set to meet Senate Democrats on Wednesday for a closed-door roundtable on cryptocurrency market structure legislation, according to journalist Eleanor Terrett.

The meeting will reportedly be led by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a key Democratic advocate for digital asset regulation, and comes as talks with Republicans remain gridlocked.

Gillibrand has been working to advance the Responsible Financial Innovation Act alongside Senator Cynthia Lummis, aiming to clarify how cryptocurrencies are governed in the US financial system.

Expected attendees include Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz, Uniswap CEO Hayden Adams, Circle’s Dante Disparte, Ripple’s Stuart Alderoty, Chainlink’s Sergey Nazarov, and executives from Kraken, a16z Crypto, Jito, and the Solana Policy Institute. Additional industry leaders may also join the session.

Analysts from TD Cowen said progress on the crypto market structure bill has been slow, suggesting final passage may slip past the upcoming midterm elections.

Meanwhile, disagreements persist between Democrats and Republicans over key regulatory definitions, including how to classify “ancillary assets” and how to curb illicit activity within decentralized finance systems.

The roundtable marks a renewed effort by Democrats to engage with industry stakeholders amid growing pressure to create a clear regulatory framework.
