Chainlink’s Taylor Lindman Named Chief Counsel for SEC Crypto Task Force

Catenaa, Sunday, March 01, 2026-  Taylor Lindman, former deputy general counsel at Chainlink Labs, has joined the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as chief counsel for its crypto task force, succeeding Michael Selig.

Lindman brings more than five years of experience at Chainlink, where he held senior legal positions overseeing oracle networks and smart contract data infrastructure for institutional finance.

His appointment comes as the SEC continues to refine regulatory approaches to digital assets, tokenization, and decentralized finance.

The crypto task force was established last year following the departure of former Chair Gary Gensler and amid shifts in agency policy.

During Gensler’s tenure, the SEC pursued cases largely focused on registration failures, asserting that many cryptocurrencies qualify as securities. The task force has since conducted multiple roundtable discussions to develop frameworks for regulating emerging digital finance products.

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, who leads the task force, announced Lindman’s appointment on X, welcoming him to the agency and expressing optimism about his contributions to modernizing U.S. financial oversight.

Chainlink acknowledged the transition, highlighting Lindman’s experience in institutional finance and his role in advancing smart contract and oracle infrastructure. His move to the SEC underscores the growing intersection of decentralized technology expertise and federal regulatory policy.
