Sydney Huang launches Human API to connect AI systems with real-world human labor

Catenaa, Saturday, January 24, 2026-Sydney Huang, CEO of Eclipse Labs, today announced Human API, a platform enabling AI systems to hire humans for tasks that require real-world interaction, according to a company statement.

Human API aims to solve the “last-mile problem” for autonomous AI agents, which can operate digitally but often require human input for activities like deliveries, data collection, and interfacing with systems inaccessible via APIs. The platform standardizes requests, coordination, and payment for human contributors.

The launch initially focuses on voice data, which remains difficult to collect at scale due to language diversity, regional accents, overlapping dialogue, and emotional nuance.

Contributors can now provide high-quality multilingual audio using consumer devices, improving training datasets for AI systems that cannot reliably generate or scrape such information.

During its stealth phase, Human API completed paid data deliveries to enterprise customers, demonstrating demand from buyers seeking richer datasets and contributors willing to supply them.

Investors highlight the platform’s approach of treating the human layer as infrastructure rather than a managed service or generic crowdwork system.

Future plans include expanding Human API beyond audio to additional types of human-provided data and real-world task execution.

The platform is currently accepting contributors globally through thehumanapi.com.
