Roboze Secures U.S. Defence-Tech Funding

Roboze defence tech investment powers new U.S. aerospace headquarters in El Segundo California

March 06, 2026 – Italian 3D-printing firm Roboze has landed a new investment from Rule 1 Ventures. As a result, the company will deepen its push into U.S. defence markets. Moreover, the deal points to rising interest in bringing key production back onshore.

In addition to Rule 1, the round drew several high-profile backers. For instance, Privcorp Ventures, Heather Podesta, and former Temasek partner Gary Ang all took part. Furthermore, Tholus Capital and the Ferrari Family Office joined. Meanwhile, existing backer Federico Faggin, who invented the microchip, added to his stake.

A New Base in El Segundo

On March 20, Roboze plans to open its U.S. defence base in El Segundo, California. Notably, the site is near major players such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and SpaceX. Because of this, the firm could speed up the execution of new deals and contracts.

Above all, the move reflects a wider industry shift. Western governments now want more control over defence supply chains. In fact, weak shipping routes and long wait times have shown clear gaps. Therefore, Roboze’s Smart Factory model, which enables local on-demand production, meets this need.

Why It Matters

Roboze’s platform blends its own hardware, high-grade materials, AI-based quality checks, and digital tools. As a result, it can make key parts on-site and on demand. For defence buyers, this cuts the need to rely on overseas makers.

Rule 1 partner James Winnefeld, a retired four-star admiral, stressed the safety angle. Specifically, he said future readiness depends on making advanced systems at home. In other words, Roboze’s technology fits a growing national need.

Founded in Bari, Italy, in 2014, Roboze has raised $16.3 million so far. With defence spending rising worldwide, the company is in a strong spot. However, expanding a network of spread-out factories across borders remains tough. Consequently, investors will watch how Roboze turns its California base into real revenue.e.
