OPENSCI Launches AI‑Blockchain Science Hub

OPENSCI launches AI‑blockchain platform

Catenaa, Monday, February 09, 2026-The OPENSCI Initiative was officially launched in Dubai during a joint session of the World Laureates Summit and World Governments Summit, introducing a blockchain- and AI-powered platform to reward scientific contributions equitably and accelerate research.

The platform, OPENSCI, combines AI agents capable of autonomous reasoning with blockchain technology to ensure researchers receive instant and fair economic rewards for discoveries.

Nobel Laureate Professor Roger Kornberg, chairman of the World Laureates Association, said the initiative addresses structural inefficiencies in modern research systems that limit recognition, slow discovery, and hinder collaboration.

OPENSCI uses a Three-Layer Architecture.

The Application Layer integrates OpenGrants for milestone-based funding, OpenWorld for global AI-matched collaboration, the IDA protocol for intellectual property and revenue management, and the Science Network to quantify and reward influence.

The Intelligence Layer features ASCI, the first general Artificial Scientific Intelligence, capable of hypothesis generation, reasoning, and empirical validation across the research lifecycle.

The Infrastructure Layer, SCI Chain, is a Layer 1 blockchain optimized for scientific transactions and asset tracking, powered by a Proof of Scientific Research consensus mechanism to permanently record contributions.

The initiative aims to create a transparent, decentralized ecosystem where scientists, institutions, and corporations can collaborate globally, shortening discovery cycles and ensuring fair value distribution.

OPENSCI’s launch signals a shift toward a more equitable, efficient, and technology-driven research enterprise, with the potential to transform the pace of foundational scientific breakthroughs over the next 25 years.
