Noble Shifts From Cosmos to New EVM Chain

Noble migrates from Cosmos to EVM

Catenaa, Monday, January 26, 2026-Noble, the stablecoin-focused appchain formerly built on Cosmos, announced plans to migrate its blockchain to a standalone EVM Layer 1.

The network, which enabled stablecoin transfers across chains via the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol, will sunset its Cosmos SDK-based chain as it prepares the new launch on March 18.

Founder Jelena Djuric said the transition to EVM will create a high-performance platform for stablecoin and foreign exchange infrastructure, enabling builders to integrate real-world applications beyond a single app.

Noble previously served as a liquidity hub for issuers like Circle, Hashnote, and Ondo Finance, processing more than $22 billion in transactions across 50 chains since 2023.

The new Noble EVM will focus on real end-user stablecoin applications, including DeFi, privacy, corporate, and payment solutions.

It will feature sub-second finality using the Commonware stack and a Proof of Authority validator set.

Noble’s USDN stablecoin, launched in 2024, will be central to the chain, integrated into managed vaults with yield-generating strategies and anchored by a novel DeFi protocol for U.S. dollar and euro stablecoin swaps.

The chain will support token issuance, trading, and capital-efficient FX perpetuals while maintaining liquidity for the NOBLE governance token.

IBC connections to existing Cosmos chains will remain active during the transition, ensuring interoperability for projects that rely on Noble’s liquidity.

Noble’s pivot reflects a broader trend among Cosmos-linked projects, such as Sei, moving toward EVM-only networks to consolidate infrastructure and expand ecosystem capabilities.
